AN OUTLAY OF THE RULES AND CONDITIONS CELTIC POOLS:

  1. The Celtic Pool ("The Weekly Lottery") is organised by Celtic Development Pools Ltd Society and is registered with the Gambling Commission under the Gambling Act 2005. Objects of the Society include the promotion of lotteries to support and encourage the advancement of sport in Scotland and elsewhere and in particular, to assist and promote Celtic Football Club Ltd, Glasgow.  All net proceeds are donated to the Youth Academy at Celtic FC.  37% donated to the beneficiary, 33% paid out in Prizes and Bonus, 12.5% paid out in commission and 17.5% expenses.
  2. Pools 1 to 5 are based on a single list of numbered football teams which relates to each Saturday on which the Pools take place, and which is generated weekly with the agreement of the promoters by Celtic Development Pools Limited. Teams scheduled to play on any given Saturday will be published beforehand online at https://www.celticfc.com/celtic-pools/celtic-pools-weekly-lottery/team-lists-and-results/
  3. Members participate in the Pools by being allocated two sets of four numbers. These numbers refer to the lists of numbered football teams. Prizes are paid according to the success of such sets of numbers when applied to each of the Pools 1 to 5, subject to these rules.
  4. A member enters the Pools on payment of the appropriate stake money for the number of entries they hold. The stake money for each entry is £1
  5. A member may participate in the Pools with any number of entries by making the appropriate weekly payments, save that the minimum number of entries for which payment can be made shall be the two sets of four numbers.
  6. A member must pay his entry money to his agent or by direct debit, and no entry money shall be accepted by that agent unless such entry money is received by him to enable it to be transmitted to one of the notified pay-in points so as to reach it before 3 p.m. on the relevant Saturday.
If for any reason such entry money does not reach one of the notified pay-in points before the relevant time as set out above, then the entry or entries shall be null and void, in which event the entry money shall be deemed to be in respect of the member's entry or entries in the Pools for the following Saturday.
  7. Dividends will be paid for the following results:
Pool 1 The four teams with the highest combined scores.
Pool 1 'Score a Score Rollover' The four teams with the highest combined scores of 20 or more goals.
Pool 2 The four teams with the highest combined scores against.
Pool 3 The four teams which among them, and along with their opponents, score more goals than any other like combination.
Pool 4 The four teams which among them, and along with their opponents, score fewer goals than any like combination.
Pool 5 The four drawn matches with the highest scores.
  8. The amount of prize money available for dividends in each of the Pools shall be determined by the Promoter.
  9. If for any reason there is no paid entry for the best possible result in any Pool, save for Pool 1 'Score a Score', the dividend in that Pool will be paid to the members who have the next best possible entry, and so on. If there be no winner in any Pool, that Pool shall be treated as void and the winners determined by computerised random number draw.
  10. If for any reason there be no paid entry for Pool 1 'Score a Score' The four teams with the highest combined scores of 20 or more goals, that dividend will be carried forward and added to the 'Score a Score' dividend in the next lottery and so on.
  11. Should the number of possible winning entries (whether or not payment has been made for such possible winning entries for the relevant week) in any pool result in a dividend of less than £10, that the proceeds paid to the member or apportioned among the members whose code combinations are generated at random by a computer program, with the proviso that stake money is received for the relevant week.
  12. If there be fewer than four teams in drawn matches (including drawn matches resulting from the application of rule 16 hereof) Pool 5 shall be cancelled and the dividend paid to the member or apportioned among the members whose code combinations are generated at random by a computer program, with the proviso that stake money is received for the relevant week.
  13. When for any reason whatsoever, more than half of the teams in any list do not play an official cup or league match on the relevant Saturday (including matches deemed not to have been played resulting from the application of Rule 15 hereof) the winners will be decided by the substitution of scores generated at random by a computer program.
  14. Only British football fixtures can be used as a source of scores to determine the winners’ process.  In the event that there are less than 49 British Football fixtures being played on the relevant Saturday the scores will be supplied by a Random Number Generator approved by the Gambling Commission.  The Random Number Generator will also be used to provide scores during the close season in the summer months of June and July.
  15. The scores of the matches listed shall be taken from such reliable source as the Promoter may decide, save for the application of Rule 12. Only first team matches shall count unless otherwise specified.
  16. Only the score at the end of ninety minutes play shall count, or, if a match is abandoned after play has commenced, the score at the time of abandonment shall count, under the condition that, where play is interrupted for a period of fifteen minutes or more, the match shall be deemed to have been abandoned and the score at the time of the interruption shall be taken as the final score for the purposes of these Rules and Conditions.
  17. A match shall be deemed not to have been played and its result shall not count unless it is played on the relevant Saturday and the kick-off time is not later than 3:20pm. Rule 16 hereof shall apply in respect of any match deemed not to have been played under this Rule.
  18. If for any reason a team listed online is participating in a match which is, or is regarded to be cancelled as aforesaid, the result of the team immediately following the team concerned in the list (or if that team should have a cancelled match, the next following which does play) shall be deemed to be the team selected in the event of the last team shown on the list not having played, the first team on the list which does play shall be substituted.
  19. Every effort will be made to include home teams, but in the event of re-arranged fixtures, printing errors, etc., the teams will stand precisely as printed.
  20. The list of teams may, on occasion, also show their opponents to their right if this is considered necessary.
  21. The names and addresses of winning members and the dividends they have won will be published online, or where the amount of winners in a Pool is too great for the space available, the number of winners and the manner in which they have won, together with the amount of the dividend. The names and addresses of winning members and the amounts they have won will be available for inspection by a member on request at the office of the Promoter.
  22. The list of teams and results will be published online, and as much information as possible shall be made available through such media as the Celtic View and online at https://www.celticfc.com/celtic-pools
  23. Cheques in respect of dividends will be posted to the winning members during the seven working days following the Saturday on which the winners were determined, to the addresses given to the Promoter, providing that the Promoter may postpone payment in the event of any claim or dispute arising.
  24. Members who claim to have won dividends but whose names or entries are not published must submit claims to the Promoter in writing within fourteen days of the declaration of the dividends.
  25. On receipt of any claim the Promoter shall cause a scrutiny to be carried out, and if it appears that an error has occurred, he may in his discretion either:
    (a) Re-calculate the relevant Pool, require repayments of dividends paid in error and re-distribute the Pool in accordance with the re-calculation, or
    (b) Pay to the member or members concerned a sum equal to the amount which is shown to be due on the basis of the re-calculation, or
    (c) Take no action, in which event the original distribution will stand.
  26. Except as provided for in Rules 24 and 25, no claims from members shall be considered.
  27. Notwithstanding the provisions of these Rules, the Promoter may in his absolute discretion accept late entries and claims.
  28. The Promoter may from time to time alter or add to these Rules and Conditions Celtic Pools, such alterations or additions shall take effect within seven days of their publication.
